b'LOCATIONSThe AR trail was planned for three locations around the city, agreed with the We Shine organisers, with the artworks divided roughly equally between them. The locations were; Victoria Park in central Portsmouth, St Marys Church at Fratton, and Mountbatten Centre, Alexandra Park to the north of the city. Victoria Park, located in the heart of Portsmouth and opened in 1878, holds historical significance as the first public park to be established in Portsmouth. An oasis of green the park features a number of memorials and a rotunda housing an aviary and small animals.St. Marys Church, constructed in the 1880s, stands as a prominent landmark in the city, and boasts the finest Walker organ in England. Notably, the previous church saw the baptisms of renowned figures such as Charles Dickens and Isambard Brunel.Alexandra Park, to the north of the city, was opened in 1907 and named after Princess Alexandra. Portsmouth Corporation purchased the land in 1888, and during WWII, some facilities were used as a temporary mortuary, and an anti-aircraft battery was stationed there. The park is now home to the Mountbatten Centre, a regional sports centre with various sports facilities.'
